Westcountry Rivers Trust

Westcountry Rovers Trust is an environmental charity working to restore and protect the region’s rivers, lakes, estuaries and coastal areas for the benefit of people, wildlife and the local economy. By using science-based interventions, community engagement, business and other environmental organisation collaboration, and supporting nature first land management processes, the Trust delivers myriad solutions and improvements in water quality and river habitat, while raising awareness of how vital these are to our lives. Westcountry Rivers Trust began in 1994. Since then, it has developed multidisciplinary projects covering topics from agricultural techniques improvement to urban sustainable drainage systems. Its aim has always been to build water resilience across a mixed rural and built environment, which encourages biodiversity and healthy water courses that can support all.
